Summary: This text is about the methods of parenting called Tiger Mother which is very strict and children have to do their best, in fact free time must be useful, so the kids have to learn or practise something new.

This method is typical from China, but it is also used by other cultures.

As, we can see this method doesn't work for everyone, for example lulu didn´t take after her sister Sofia although her mother Amy used the same method with bouth. It looks like tiger parenting is the key to the accomplishment of Chinese teenagers who achieve the highest marks in 65 countries.

Summary:“To help or not to help” explains the way people act when there is an emergency situation. Researchers did an experiment to study the bystander effect, which showed that people who are alone participate more than people who are with other people that don't do anything.

This happens because people follow what is socially acceptable and it is strange the people who behave in a heroic way risk their lives.

Researchers had explained that empathy is a good reason why people act, for example if you know the victim or you can think about how he feels you will overcome the bystander effect.

However there are countries which have created good samaritan laws to obligate people to help. When there is an emergency.

Summary:The text is about a little boy who was poor and lived in India. He was looking for coins with his brother at the train station, but he got lost in the city of Kolkata and he couldn't came back home, so he ended up in an orphanage and was adopted by a very good family.

One day he had the idea of using Google Earth to find his lost family, which was like finding a needle in a haystack.

He remembered the journey from when he was lost in the train and he flew over the perimeter of Kolkata by using Google Earth, but he took many years until he came across a familiar landmark which was a fountain from a village called Khandwa, which was near to his native town.although he didn´t know if his family was alive or he would be able to find them.

-In the first paragraph, the main idea is that the author said that he was on summer vacation in Guatemala and that day was beautiful, so he wanted to visit a lake called Atitlan.

Summary: This text is about meat and its impact on the environment, the meat we normally eat is cheaper but it affects global warming and produces pollution, because we have to keep animals, destroy forests...

The scientist Mark Post, created an in-vitro hamburger (cow cells) which costs 250 pounds, which makes people go into shock, because of the difference with respect to the normal hamburger. The new burger is (environmentally friendly), because it does not pollute as much as the other one and less animals die, the problem is that it is very difficult to produce, because it has to be treated as a (rather like babies) and they have to be (well fed and safe), also you have to use (workout machines) and it would be very difficult compared to the tons of meat that are currently produced.

(Moreover), people would show (will be reluctant because lab grown meat), it seems unnatural, that is why it is undervalued.

Summary:

The text deals with the different behaviors that animals have, especially birds, insects, and fish.

They bend to behave in a peculiar way, because they deceive their own insects, fish.
